hello fear, goodbye

I have always liked the idea of being unafraid

just in life generally

sounds like a nice way to go through life- unafraid.

but my friend Kat, who I really like,

has a little sign in her room that says

“be afraid and do it anyway”

I think I like that better

yeah, I do, I like that better.

It is unrealistic to think I could go through life with no fear

what is better is to feel that fear

acknowledge it for the force of nature that it is

tell it that you respect its power

but that you simply cannot succumb to it today

for you have far too much to get done
