I have these two paintings of bathtubs on my wall.
I found them at the antique mall.
They bring me a lot of joy.
They bring me energy.
Something about the simplicity of it all.
They are gold, blue, maroon.
They are small.
Here is what I think it is.
These bathtub paintings,
they exist only to exist.
Purely for pleasure.
Why the fuck would anyone paint just a bathtub? Twice.
Just to do it, okay.
The bathtubs do not have to
(and more importantly they do not try to)
convince anyone of anything.
justify their existence.
prove their worth.
strive towards anything at all.
